Pinotage

Image of Pinotage
Flag of South Africa

Pinotage is synonymous with South Africa, and made from a crossing of Pinot Noir and Cinsault. It’s received a bad rap for most of its existence; but determined, modern winemakers are now producing excellent Pinotage. Good examples can be complex, concentrated and able to age beautifully. Expect notes of juicy black cherry, menthol and fig.
