Roussanne, meaning “when ripe”, is a white grape native to France’s Rhône Valley. Roussanne really benefits from sunnier climates, needing consistently warm temperatures and lots of sunlight to fully ripen and achieve its famously rich, aromatic, spiced apricot flavours. Rousanne makes wines which are full-bodied, intriguing and worth seeking out.
