Vermentino (also known as Rolle in France), is a white grape which grows extremely well in the warm, dry temperatures of the Mediterranean. Common flavours include juicy peach, lemon peel and a saline minerality if the vineyards are found close to the coast. It’s a real winner with seafood, particularly grilled sardines.
