Castelão is a Portuguese red wine grape and one of the country’s most popular. It’s medium-bodied and similar to Spain’s Tempranillo, or France’s Cabernet Franc, both in its structure but also its black fruit and spicy-peppery/herby notes. It’s a wine which goes well with grilled meat or mushroom risotto.
