Counoise is a red grape mainly grown in the Rhône Valley, France, where its key use is in the imperious Chateauneuf du Pape blend. Counoise’s a grape which demands quality over quantity, with some really strong offerings now being produced in both America and Australia too. Expect flavours of spiced plum, black pepper and liquorice.
